Baby Amy – Kent Newborn Photographer Darenth Village

Meet Adorable Amy, just eight days new in these photos.  She was referred to as “Baby Girl” throughout our session as she was so brand new that she was yet to be named; I think Amy suits her perfectly!

She was protectively hugged by her big brother Thomas who I’ve photographed as s a toddler at the gorgeous autumn colours in Knole Park, Sevenoaks. Thomas wanted to play the drums during our session…fortunately we just about managed to talk him out of it.

The above image is a composite which featured in my Safely Posing Newborns post. It’s really important that clients and the general public realise that some poses should not be attempted without assistance; newborn safety should be the number one priority of every photographer.

When should I book a newborn shoot?

If you are considering a newborn shoot the he optimum time for a newborn shoot is between day 7 and 10 – though I do photograph babies of any age but these sessions tend to take longer as baby is more alert, and the poseability factor is lost. It’s really important that you contact me before baby is due, around your 20 week scan date is ideal, so that  I can ensure I can schedule your session into my diary because I can’t guarantee my availability for short notice bookings.
