Baby George – Kent Newborn Photographer

You know that feeling when you wait forever for a bus to turn up and then two come along at once? Well that’s the feeling I had when I met handsome Baby George last month, as he was the second newborn boy I photographed in a week.

George didn’t really like two things. Firstly he didn’t really like sleeping much; he wasn’t fully awake but he wasn’t fully asleep either which led to our second problem in that he didn’t much like being put down, and because he wasn’t asleep enough every time we attempted to pop him onto the beanbag for some pretty portraits he woke up. I think we managed about five minutes during several hours of proper “sleepy baby” time. One thing George did like doing though was smiling in his sleep. Luckily I move fast when the time comes and I was delighted with the resulting images I managed to provide for his lovely Mum and Dad.

George was 15 days old when these portraits were taken which is approaching the limit for the sleepy, snuggly newborn look that so many parent’s want to achieve – ideally newborn shoots should take place between day 7-10. The newborn days are incredibly tiring (believe me I know, I’ve done it three times!) but any good newborn photographer will be able to work around you and your baby’s needs during your session. You can find out more about my Bump to Baby package on my website.

Feedback from George’s Mum only goes to show what these photos mean to her, and despite her fair share of newborn baby feeding/sleeping/having to look after other children at the same time challenges she still made time for me to come over;

“Thank you so very much for capturing George at such a precious time. We are definitely not having more children, so this Is the last time we’ll have a newborn. I only wish we’d had you round to take photos of the other two at the same stage!”

Honestly, it was my pleasure. Thank you so much for having me F xx
