T in the Park – Portrait Photographer Sevenoaks

I had a lovely couple of hours in the late autumn sunshine chasing the gorgeous T through the leaves at the National Trust’s Knole Park in Sevenoaks, Kent.

“The Park at Knole tells us the story of a time before man-made landscaped beauty became an obsession for wealthy landowners.  The famous herd of deer are also its main guardians, maintaining the balance of nature with their careful grazing.

With 1,000 acres to explore, there’s something to suit all kinds of walker and wildlife-watcher. Even if you don’t go far there is plenty to see close to the house. One of the highest points in the Park is a nearby hill. The male deer often stage spectacular fights here during the rut.”

Our visit coincided with the middle of rutting season so we spent a considerable amount of time dodging the intimidating antlers possessed by some of the deer who roam freely in the park, such as this magnificent stag whom I caught atop of the hill with his does at sundown.

You may notice that again I am challenging the rule of “don’t work with children or animals” by shooting both in one session! Nonetheless, we certainly made the most of the fine weather and beautiful autumn colours during our time in the park:
